The anthranilates are found widely in nature and are used both for flavours and fragrances, with fragrance applications dominating the major volumes used. The products are found in citrus peel oils, though Methyl anthranilate, commercially the most important oil, is also found in grape and other soft fruits. An interesting functional use for Methyl anthranilate is as an ecologically sound bird repellent. Primarily these are produced for Khush Ingredients in India.
