Description:

Known in Sri Lanka as the oil of tranquillity, Vetiver is an aromatic grass. It has been given the chemical name Vetiveria zizanioides, and has an aroma utilized by perfumery manufacturers to create perfume blends, exploiting its calming, earthy and woody scent. It has also had a variety of non-scent-based uses, from soil to water conservation to crop protection, and even has medicinal value – healing back ache.

The oil extraction can be done in different ways, namely steam distillation and solvent extraction. The main part used to obtain the oil are the bottom roots, which have a robust aroma.

This product is widely used in perfumes and aromatherapy.

Khush Ingredients offer two different types of Vetiver, from Sri Lanka and from Indonesia.
